"Compelling tales of a veterinarian’s life. Tough fisherman soft heart is my favourite. A great read."

 —Catherine Shields MD FRCPC (Anesthesia)

"This is an emotionally rich and deeply human account of a veterinarian’s life and long career. The reader is drawn into each moment, the narrative unfolds with warmth, wit and emotional resonance, crafting a memoir that is both entertaining and illuminating with a natural story teller cadence.  Dr. Lees guides the reader through the so called “golden age” of veterinary science, and its evolution, sharing stories ranging from humorous to heartbreaking and from exhilarating to quietly profound."
—Jill Smith, RVT
